			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is interesting to me because I spent 2007-2008 in Oaxaca writing about politics and culture and the general state of things&#8211;as far as I could tell&#8211;following the conflicts of 2006 that eventually claimed Brad Will. <p>Amnesty International <a href="http://www.amnestyusa.org/document.php?id=ENGNAU2010021915537&amp;lang=e">posts</a> that Juan Manuel Martinez, the activist on whom the 2006 murder of Brad Will was pinned, has been released due to lack of evidence. In the meantime, Will&#8217;s killer is <a href="http://blog.amnestyusa.org/iar/brad-wills-killer-is-still-at-large/">still at large</a>. All this roiled Oaxaca back in 2006 and 2007, and it informs the context of unresolved tension between citizens and the Ruiz government.</p>
